Sweet conversation...

There are many things that are so precious about Sarah.  One of them is that she is the most grateful out of all of my kids.  Genuinely thankful for just about everything, and she lets us know it!

Here's a little conversation we had today...

Sarah: "Mom, when I was a baby, you went to get me in China."

Me: "Yes, we did!"

"Why?"

"Because we loved you so much! We went all the way to China to get you!"

"You came to China to pick up me. Thank you! Thank you for picking up me!"

It just doesn't get much better than that. : )

  3. How precious!
I am a mother of three biological sons and a daughter adopted from China. I am also a nurse manager of a large NICU in New York and a student trying to get my masters. As part of one of my classes, I am suppose to select a community and look at the health of that community. The community, I have selected, is the adoption community. I am assessing the psychosocial health of this community. Basically, what I want to find out is if the families have support in helping both the child and the parents and rest of the family cope with the transition into the family. My motive for this project is the fact that I did not have the support I felt was needed after bringing my daughter home. We were lucky in that she did very well. I wonder, if there is enough support for these new parents and if more needs to be done. It seems like more and more people are adopting and it is such a wonderful experience. Without the proper support, more and more children might end of having a disruptived adoption which is so sad. So, if you would be willing to participate in a project, I would be so grateful. It might only take about 30 minutes of emailing. I am looking for 50 people who have adopted. If you would be willing to participate, please email me at mwhoff@new.rr.com.
    Thank you,
    Wendy
